Job Description

Are you a Toolmaker who would be keen on a 6 month fixed term contract working with a leading manufacturing company that offers excellent earning potential?

Excellent rates of pay and potential for overtime: The salary on offer is circa £42,600 (including shift allowance), so you will earn circa £21,300 for the 6 month period you would be employed, and there is potential scope for some overtime at enhanced rates.

Potential for permanent employment: There is scope for the right person to become a permanent member of the team at the end of the 6 month period.

Your Weekends are Yours: Commit to a manageable 3-shift rotation, embracing 8-hour shifts primarily from Monday to Friday. Working a predictable schedule that keeps your weekends free for relaxation and family time.

Toolmaker duties will include:

  • Ensuring that tooling is serviced and set up to the correct specification.
  • Making certain that all tooling is available for production with all necessary equipment and fittings in line with production requirements.
  • Control of spare parts and materials required to maintain tooling.
  • Ensuring records and all documentation required for compliance are completed.
  • Carry out repairs to tooling as required, utilising in-house and external resources.
  • Development of processes, including trialling of new moulds, in conjunction with other stakeholders.
  • Liaising with production, technical, quality and maintenance departments to ensure equipment is maintained to required standards.

To apply for the Toolmaker role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working as a toolmaker or in a mechanical maintenance capacity maintaining production tooling.
  • A relevant engineering qualification (BTEC, HNC, NVQ, etc.)
  • Experience with all relevant toolroom / workshop equipment such as lathes, millers, grinders, etc.

A salary of £42,600 (including shift allowance) – pro rata for the 6 month period – you will earn circa £21,300 for the length of time you are there, a pension plan, healthcare benefits, 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays (pro rata for the length of contract – you will accrue 2.1 days of holiday for each month you work), etc.

Working Hours That Work for You:

A shift pattern that includes days (6am-2pm), nights (10 pm-6am), and afternoons (2pm-10pm), with night shifts commencing on Sunday evenings.
