Sigma is committed to creating a\n \ndiverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunities employer. our business.\n Outline of role\n \nSigma Group is seeking an\n \nexperienced and commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join our growing\n \nteam. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing refit schemes\n \nacross a variety of workstreams, ranging from short-term projects of approximately\n \none week to larger schemes lasting up to six months.\n \nThis is a hands-on role with\n \nfull commercial responsibility from project inception through to completion.\n \nYou will oversee measuring, scoping, tendering, cost control, subcontractor\n \nmanagement, client liaison, reporting, valuations, and final accounts, ensuring\n \nprojects are delivered efficiently and profitably.\n Main responsibilities\n \nAttend scoping\n \nand survey meetings to assess project requirements\n \nMeasure, scope,\n \nand prepare cost plans for proposed works\n \nLiaise with\n \nClient Project Quantity Surveyors and Cost Managers\n \nPrepare\n \nsubcontractor enquiries and analyse returned quotations\n \nPlace\n \nsubcontractor orders and manage contractual documentation\n \nProvide\n \ncommercial support to the Managing QS and Commercial Manager\n \nSupport\n \noperational and delivery teams throughout project lifecycle\n \nPrepare budget\n \ncostings and bills of quantities\n \nManage multiple\n \nprojects simultaneously across various workstreams\n \nProduce accurate\n \ncommercial reports and cost updates\n \nUndertake\n \nvaluations and interim applications for payment\n \nForecast project\n \ncash flow and monitor expenditure\n \nArrange payments\n \nto subcontractors in line with agreed terms\n \nPrepare,\n \nnegotiate, and submit final accounts\n \nEnsure robust\n \nfinal accounting and project close-out procedures\n Knowledge and skills \n required\n \nStrong commercial\n \nawareness and financial management skills\n \nProven experience\n \nin quantity surveying within fit-out, refurbishment, or construction sectors\n \nAbility to manage\n \nseveral projects at one time while meeting deadlines\n \nExcellent\n \nnegotiation and subcontractor management skills\n \nStrong analytical\n \nand numerical ability with attention to detail\n \nGood\n \nunderstanding of contracts, valuations, and final accounts\n \nExcellent\n \ncommunication skills with clients, suppliers, and internal teams\n \nProficient in\n \nMicrosoft Office and relevant commercial software\n \nAbility to work\n \nindependently and collaboratively within a team environment\n \nProblem-solving\n \nmindset with a proactive approach\n Qualifications\n \nDegree or HNC/HND\n \nin Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related discipline\n \nRelevant industry\n \nexperience in a Quantity Surveyor role\n \nMembership of\n \nRICS or working towards chartered status desirable\n \nFull UK driving\n \nlicence\n Benefits:\n \n25 days holiday\n \nplus bank holidays\n \nA days birthday\n \nleave to be taken within your birthday month\n \nOpportunity to\n \nbuy or sell up to 3 days holiday*\n \nOpportunity for\n \nhybrid working*\n \nAbility to\n \nparticipate in the Octopus EV salary sacrifice scheme*\n \nAbility to\n \nparticipate in the Cycle to Work Scheme*\n \nEmployee\n \nAssistance Programme\n \nHealthshield cash\n \nplan with discounts on high street stores\n \nFree external\n \nfinancial advice offering support for mortgages, pensions and insurances\n \nEnhanced family\n \nfriendly pay*\n \nFree tea, coffee\n \nand fruit on all sites\n \n*Subject to\n \neligibility\n Opportunity to be involved with\n \nGroup Colleague\n \nBoard\n \nQuarterly\n \nCorporate Events/Charity Involvement\n \nSigma is committed to providing colleagues with opportunities to progress their career, supported by a range of training and development\n \nactivities and interventions\n \nIf you think youve got what it\n \ntakes to join our growing, winning team wed love you to hear from you.\n \n
