About the electrical maintenance technician role:

  • You'll support production operations, so they have the equipment and information needed to meet demands.
  • The role also includes supporting management in implementing new projects and continuous improvement.
  • Further duties include:
  • Minimising plant and equipment downtime by delivering swift and effective solutions.
  • Modifying and upgrading existing equipment to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Supporting and managing project design and installations as required.
  • Providing a rapid response to breakdowns to maintain operational continuity.
  • Carrying out planned maintenance schedules, ensuring all tasks are logged and completed as per plan.
  • Improving maintenance practices by reviewing and refining the Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) programme.
  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults accurately and efficiently.
  • Promoting and ensuring a safe working environment for all employees, championing health and safety best practices.
  • Proactively identifying and addressing faulty processes and implementing long-term solutions to enhance reliability.
  • Collaborating with the production team to prioritise maintenance activities effectively.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimise production support and efficiency.
  • Providing coverage for the Maintenance Manager as needed.

What you'll need to apply for the electrical maintenance technician:

  • NVQ level three or above in engineering.
  • An electrical bias, ideally with mechanical skills.
  • Experience with pumps, motors, relays, panels and lighting.

The package:

  • A starting rate of £20.50 - £23 per hour, which is around £40,500 - £45,400 per annum. Plus, lots of overtime at enhanced rates.
  • There is a requirement for some time on call, but this is very flexible and can often be dealt with over the phone.
  • Benefits include a company pension, 150 hours of holiday, plus bank holidays, and the potential for two bonuses per year.

Hours of work: Typically, you will work your 38 hours between Monday and Thursday; there is flexibility with the working hours.
