What You’ll Do as the HSE Officer
- Working alongside the HSE Manager, you’ll keep the site’s safety and environmental systems running well. The split is roughly 60% health and safety, 40% environment.
- You will carry out site audits, safety tours, inspections and behavioural safety conversations out on the plant.
- Manage environmental compliance, including permits, waste management, packaging regulations, and the Climate Change Agreement.
- Look after ISO45001 and ISO14001 requirements, from audits and documentation to accreditation.
- Support Process Safety Management tasks, including risk assessments, MOC, PSI reviews, PSSR, and PHA work.
- Develop and deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness training to on‑site groups.
- Investigate incidents, conduct root‑cause analyses, and compile the monthly safety metrics.
What You’ll Need
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent), with a working grasp of risk assessment, COSHH, permit‑to‑work and safe systems of work.
- Hands‑on experience in an SH&E, HSE or health and safety officer role, within manufacturing or industrial operations.
- Practical experience of audits, inspections and behavioural safety, plus working knowledge of ISO45001 and ISO14001.
