Key Responsibilities

As a Sustainable Development Programme Coordinator at Arup, you will play an important role in supporting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Strategic Plan.

  • Assist in managing the sustainable development transformation programme, working closely with key stakeholders to support effective planning, governance, delivery, and achievement of intended benefits.
  • Contribute to the preparation of business cases, programme plans, governance tools such as RACI frameworks, initiative structures, and RAID logs.
  • Help maintain internal platforms and documentation, including SharePoint, the SD Hub, and Teams, while actively participating in internal meetings.
  • Support the preparation of reports and presentation materials for the Executive Board, Arup Group Limited Board, and other governance bodies.
  • Help monitor budgets, forecast spending, and track financial performance in partnership with the Finance team.
  • Work with enabling functions such as People, Finance, Digital, and HSEQ to support the integration of change initiatives.
  • Support the delivery of global sustainable development change programmes under Tranche 2 and 3 investments.
  • Collaborate closely with the Global Sustainable Development Director, the Global Sustainable Development Programme/Fund Manager, and senior leaders across Total Design, Business & Markets, the Strategy Office, and Performance & Operations.

Is This Role Right for You?

  • Willingness to travel to London and work in a hybrid format 2 to 3 times per week.
  • Undergraduate degree, further qualification, or equivalent experience, preferably in project management, programme management, or sustainable development.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in project or programme management, PMO, or portfolio delivery roles.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • A collaborative, approachable working style with strong listening skills and a positive attitude toward stakeholder engagement.
  • Proactive and able to manage multiple tasks independently while setting priorities effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence others and listen actively.
  • Comfortable working with globally distributed teams and across multiple time zones.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, along with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with core Arup systems such as Invest in Arup, CRM, AMS, IiA platform, and Copilot.
