We are looking for a Communications Officer to join our team and help bring Sightsavers’ work to life through clear, engaging and purposeful communications. This role plays a key part in supporting the development and delivery of communications that raise our profile and ensure our work reaches the audiences who matter most. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation and with external partners, you will contribute to planning, creating and delivering communications that support our programmes, meet donor requirements and strengthen our overall impact.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and delivery of communications from planning through to implementation and evaluation
- Work with colleagues to identify key audiences and translate objectives into clear, practical communications plans
- Create engaging content across a range of channels, including digital and offline platforms
- Ensure communications activities align with donor requirements and organisational priorities
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-quality communications outputs
- Contribute to evaluating communications activity and using insights to improve future work

- Experience working in a communications role or environment
- Strong writing skills with the ability to produce clear, engaging content for different audiences
- Experience of using a range of communications channels, including digital platforms
- Ability to plan and organise work effectively, managing competing priorities
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
- Confidence in turning ideas or objectives into practical communications activities
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and digital tools
Desirable
- Experience working in international development, global health or a related field
- Knowledge of policy or programme communications
- Experience working with donor-funded programmes or meeting contractual communications requirements
- Experience working with external agencies or suppliers
