At Sight Support Derbyshire, we support blind and partially sighted people across Derbyshire to live as independently, confidently, and safely as possible.
As a Rehabilitation Support Worker, you will provide practical, person-centred support including advice, demonstrating simple aids and equipment, and signposting to other services where needed.
This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who communicates well, listens carefully, and works respectfully with people. Experience of supporting people with sight loss is welcome, but not essential, as full training and ongoing support will be provided.
What you’ll do
- Visit blind and partially sighted people in their homes to understand what practical advice, equipment or signposting may help
- Demonstrate and provide simple aids and equipment
- Offer clear, practical advice about using equipment safely and confidently at home
- Provide information and signposting to other Sight Support Derbyshire services or external support where appropriate
- Keep accurate records of visits, equipment provided and any onward referrals or follow-up needed
