LHH is delighted to be supporting Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans as they recruit a People Operations Consultant to join the People & Culture Directorate.
Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans has been supporting people impacted by vision loss for 230 years. It’s an exciting time to join them as they continue to change, grow and develop to ensure that they remain relevant and innovative – and, most importantly, provide support which responds to the needs of people with vision loss today.
The People & Culture Directorate delivers for their total workforce – both as individuals or as managers. Their role is to support the organisation in finding the perfect balance between a culture that enables employees and volunteers to thrive and developing a successful and sustainable charity that delivers. This role is key to the success of their People Operations function which operates across their Charities to support the delivery of their Strategic Intent plan.
We are seeking an experienced People Operations Partner to deliver a high‑quality, customer‑focused people service across both charities. You will provide expert advice and consultancy to colleagues and managers across the full colleague and volunteer lifecycle, including workforce planning, recruitment, learning and development, performance management and employee relations. You will lead on complex people casework, ensuring legal compliance, effective risk management and confident coaching support for managers.
Working closely with the People Operations Team Leader and the wider People & Culture team, you will help plan and prioritise work, drive process improvements, develop self‑service solutions, and contribute to policy development, people systems, analytics and strategic projects. You will also be responsible for organisational training provision and volunteer development, ensuring initiatives are well communicated, embedded and aligned with our People & Culture Strategy.
We are looking for someone with substantial experience at a similar level, strong knowledge of HR practice across recruitment, employee relations, reward, training, policy, systems and data, and the ability to think strategically and operationally with a total workforce perspective. You will be confident influencing a wide range of stakeholders, comfortable working in a complex environment, and motivated by improving people practice through evidence‑based and collaborative approaches. Experience in the not‑for‑profit or charitable sector, and empathy with the aims of Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans, would be an advantage.
