The Graduate Category Manager role is designed as an early-careers pathway into category and commercial management, offering hands-on experience, real responsibility, and clear development over your first 24 months. As a Graduate Category Manager, you'll join our Commercial team in a fast-paced support role that sits at the centre of how our product ranges are managed, developed and delivered. With our support and your curiosity and ambition you'll build strong commercial foundations, learning how product ranges, pricing, suppliers, data and governance come together in a live distribution environment. You'll work closely with experienced Category Managers and senior stakeholders, gaining insight into how commercial decisions are made and brought to life across the business.

Qualifications

  • A minimum 2:2 degree in a business-related subject
  • Recently graduated within the last 3 years
  • Commercially curious, with an interest in how products, pricing and markets work
  • Data-driven and analytical, with strong attention to detail
  • Confident using Excel and PowerPoint, with a willingness to learn new systems
  • Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities
  • A clear, confident communicator who works well as part of a team
  • Ambitious, persistent and keen to build a long-term commercial career
  • Full driving license and access to a car or ability to get to branch locations and occasional overnight stays may be needed.

Programme and progression

Our programme is a two year scheme, where individuals will gain an in-depth knowledge of the Business and the Commercial function. You will be supported with a 2 year development programme to focus on your core personal and technical skills to enable you to thrive. Over your first 12-24 months, you'll progressively move from supporting activity to taking ownership of defined category tasks and projects. You'll be supported through on-the-job learning, mentoring from experienced Category Managers, and exposure to supplier engagement, branch operations and cross-functional working.
