The Role
As an EHS Advisor, you will play a critical role in shaping safe and sustainable operations across multiple PTG sites. You’ll provide hands-on guidance, coach teams, support investigations, and help embed the behaviours and standards that keep our colleagues safe every day. This role is dynamic, impactful, and ideal for someone who enjoys working across different sites, solving problems quickly, and influencing others to do the right thing.
What you’ll be doing:
- Embed a positive and proactive EHS culture through communication, engagement, and training.
- Lead and support incident investigations, identifying root causes and ensuring preventative actions are implemented and shared.
- Act as the first escalation point for all EHS queries across your allocated sites.
- Conduct, review, and maintain risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Support environmental compliance, including Packaging Waste Directive preparation and environmental monitoring.
- Manage EHS reporting: leading/lagging indicators, dashboards, metrics, and incident statistics.
- Participate in internal audits, safety walks, inspections, and support sites with ISO 45001/14001 requirements.
- Support management teams in preparation for and participation in external audits.
- Support management teams with corrective action plans and ensure timely completion.
- Align site EHS initiatives with wider Group EHS and sustainability objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement in safety, environmental impact, and operational efficiency.
- Build colleague engagement and ownership in safety matters across all supported sites.
- Coach and develop teams to enhance their EHS knowledge and capability.
What you’ll have:
Essential:
- Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of EHS legislation and management systems.
- Confident influencing skills and an ability to engage diverse teams.
- Approachable, supportive, and willing to challenge where needed.
- Able to work autonomously and manage multiple site needs simultaneously.
- Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and reporting ability.
- Proactive, hands-on, collaborative mindset.
Desirable:
- Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
- Audit experience and knowledge of corrective action processes.
Qualifications:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
- NEBOSH Environmental Certificate or ISEP Environmental Management Certificate.
