We are currently looking to recruit a National Account Manager who will manage business and strategy in the construction sector along with account management of existing accounts, covering Tier 1 main contractors.
What does the role involve?
As a National Account Manager, you will be responsible for the Management of Tier 1 Accounts, visiting regional offices of Tier 1’s, pipeline management, along with strategic supply chain management and engagement with the SIG business. Develop opportunities within the contractor frameworks – working closely with the various SIG stakeholders to maximise opportunities.
As a National Account Manager, we expect good communication skills internally and externally, to ensure effective supply chain management enabling profitable sales.
Key responsibilities
- Delivering the sales budget for the portfolio of National account customers
- Strategic account management of the accounts
- Establish and build strong relationships to a deep level within the National Accounts
- Establishes, develops and maintains constructive business relationships with current and prospective National Accounts to grow existing business, and generate new business for SIG's products/services.
- Makes personal visits, presentations and telephone calls to existing and prospective National Accounts
- Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints efficiently.
- Analyses the Accounts potential and determines the value of existing and prospective customer’s value to the organisation.
- Creates and manages an account management plan for existing customers, highlighting profile, share and value opportunities and uses this information to identify new areas of business.
- Identifies advantages and compares organisation’s products/services to competitors to establish areas of differentiation.
- Plans and organises personal sales strategy in line with company objectives by maximizing the return on time Investment for the accounts
- Supplies management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services through company reporting procedures.
- Maintains up to date records of customer interactions and development plans
- Takes personal ownership of their targets and objectives and works to achieve the company’s minimum standards of performance.
- To manage key National Agreements at Head Office level
The successful candidate will require:
- Excellent knowledge of SIG products with good networks
- Strong knowledge of supply chains / framework agreements
- The ability to recognise sales opportunities at every stage of the sales process
- The ability to build strong relationships at a senior level across National Accounts
- Great communication and stakeholder management skills with high ethical standards
- Commercial astuteness, analytical skills and excellent presentation skills required.
- Good IT skills with proficiency in Excel and knowledge of Power BI
