Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) is a trusted leader in solving the world’s toughest challenges through advanced engineering technologies in Space Systems, Commercial Solutions, and National Security and Defence.
The Thermoplastic Fabricator is responsible for cutting, forming, welding, and assembling thermoplastic materials into finished components or products according to specifications. This role requires the ability to read technical drawings, operate fabrication tools, and ensure high-quality workmanship while following safety and quality standards.
Qualifications & Skills- Minimum 5 years’ experience in plastic fabrication/welding
- Proficiency in thermal plastic welding techniques including hand/speed welding, butt fusion, extrusion welding and socket fusion
- Knowledge of thermoplastic materials and their properties
- Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring tools
- Proficiency with fabrication tools and machinery
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Good manual dexterity and physical stamina
- Fabricate parts and assemblies using thermoplastic materials such as PVC, PP, HDPE, acrylic, and polycarbonate
- Cut, shape, bend and form plastic sheets, rods and pipes using hand tools and power equipment
- Perform plastic welding techniques (hot air, extrusion, butt fusion, solvent welding, etc.)
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and work instructions
- Assemble fabricated components and ensure proper fit and finish
- Inspect finished products for quality, accuracy and defects
- Maintain tools, machines and a clean, safe work area
- Follow safety procedures, company policies and quality standards
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors and other fabrication team members
- Document work performed and report any issues or material shortages
