Get to Know This Role
The Content Creator is a social-first, production-forward creative responsible for developing high-quality, highly produced video and static content that elevates Sierra Nevada's storytelling across all integrated marketing channels. Based in Chico, this role is the senior creative counterpart to the Associate Content Creator and serves as the primary lead for longform video, advanced production needs, and high-impact creative asset development. This role owns full-scale content production—from ideation and scripting to directing shoots, filming, editing, sound design, and delivering polished long-form and mid-form video assets that support brand, social, digital, and integrated campaigns.
In partnership with the Social Media Manager, Brand and creative leadership, the Content Creator ensures Sierra Nevada's visual identity, craft story, and brand voice come to life with consistency, elevated polish, and authenticity. The Content Creator also manages the intake of content from the Associate Content Creator, shaping raw footage into cohesive stories and providing guidance, coaching, and creative direction as needed. This is an ideal role for a creator who thrives in a hands-on production environment, has strong technical expertise, and can balance nimble social-first storytelling with high-production, cinematic, longform craft narratives.

What You Will Do
- Directed by Social Media Manager captures longform and midform content production from concept development through final delivery, including scripting, storyboarding, shot planning, and directing field shoots as needed.
- Extremely organized and focused on meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrates strong workflow management through reliable deadline execution, proactive communication, and participation in performance reviews to improve future creative output.
- Shoots high-quality static and video using advanced equipment such as mirrorless cinema cameras, lighting kits, audio capture systems, and stabilization tools to produce elevated storytelling content.
- Owns post-production for long-form video, including editing, color grading, motion graphics, sound mixing, and versioning for integrated campaigns, website, YouTube, retail, and brand channels.
- Reviews, organizes, and edits some raw footage submitted by the Associate Content Creator to build cohesive videos, elevate quality, and maintain consistency across platforms.
- Takes creative direction from the Social Media Manager and Brand Guardian, ensuring all content reflects Sierra Nevada's visual identity, style guide, and strategic storylines.
- Supports and occasionally leads production for high-impact integrated marketing initiatives in partnership with outside creative teams, including campaign shoots, brewery stories, event coverage, and partner/retail collaborations.
- Collaborates closely with the Associate to guide shot lists, production best practices, and onsite coverage expectations that support longform storytelling needs.
- Manages production schedules, timelines, and resource planning for longform video projects and multi-day shoots across Chico and external locations where relevant.
- Maintains an organized, systemwide content archive including raw footage, project files, exports, metadata, naming conventions, and licensing documentation for downstream use.
- Stays current with production trends, emerging creative formats, and platform shifts, proactively recommending new storytelling formats and creative approaches.
- Must be willing to work non-standard hours, including some nights and weekends.

- Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, film or related degree required or any combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved required.
- 4 years in a content creator role required and 4 years working with content in post-production environment to produce final assets required.
- Demonstrated experience working in fast-paced, collaborative and deadline-oriented environments.
- Proven experience in photography and videography for social/digital channels.
- Strong portfolio of lifestyle, product, and brand storytelling content.
- Skilled in both mobile-first and traditional camera-based content creation.
- Familiarity with content optimization for social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Comfortable working in a Mac environment with the Adobe Suite, notably Photoshop, WorkFront and Premier.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with brand and creative teams.
- Flexible, solutions-oriented, and comfortable in fast-paced creative environments.
- Ruthless prioritization of deadlines to delivery content and extremely organized around production planning/prep.
