Overview: Working with our client, a leading injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking for a Compliance Engineer to join their successful team.

Remit: As a Compliance Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring products, processes and management systems meet customer, legal and industry requirements.

The successful candidate will maintain the companies Quality Management System, support audits, manage product compliance documentation and drive continuous improve across the business.

This is a hands on role within a plastics manufacturing environment, working closely with production, technical, sales and customers.

Role: Maintain and continuously improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

Manage and maintain BRCGS Packaging Materials certification.

Prepare for and lead external certification audits.

Conduct internal audits and supplier audits.

Manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Perform root cause analysis using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why and Ishikawa.

Ensure compliance with customer specifications and food contact regulations.

Manage product documentation including: Declarations of Compliance Specifications Risk assessments Material traceability Certificates of Analysis Liaise with customers regarding technical and compliance queries.

Support new product development by ensuring regulatory compliance.

Maintain document control procedures.

Monitor legislation affecting plastics and food contact materials.

Deliver quality and compliance training to employees.

Support customer visits and technical audits.

Analyse quality data and identify improvement opportunities.

Experience

Requirements: Minimum 3 years in a quality or compliance role within manufacturing, experience within plastics manufacturing or food packaging would be highly advantageous.

HNC/HND in Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, Quality Management or similar.

ISO 9001 Internal Auditor (essential).

Experience with BRCGS Packaging Materials (professional qualification desirable) Six Sigma Green Belt (desirable) Lead auditor qualification (desirable) Experience with ERP systems (desirable) Strong understanding of CAPA and root cause analysis.

Experience dealing with external auditors.

Excellent document control skills.

Good communication skills.
