Remit
- As a Production Manager you will be responsible for leading daily extrusion operations to deliver production, quality and customer requirements.
- This position will suit an experienced Production Manager with a proven background in Extrusion who can demonstrate strong leadership skills I managing and developing diverse teams within a manufacturing environment.
Role
- Lead daily extrusion operations to deliver production, quality and customer requirements.
- Monitor key performance measures including output, utilisation, waste, schedule adherence and right-first-time, driving action where performance falls short.
- Champion a strong safety culture across extrusion operations, ensuring compliance with HSE, engineering, legislative and ISO standards.
- Lead incident response, safety inspections and the implementation of safe systems of work.
- Oversee production planning, raw material availability, finished goods and warehouse operations to ensure efficient material flow, stock accuracy and uninterrupted production.
- Work closely with logistics and warehouse partners.
- Lead, engage and develop extrusion, planning and warehouse teams, setting clear objectives and expectations.
- Manage performance, attendance, coaching, development and employee relations in line with company policies.
- Drive improvements across safety, quality, delivery and cost using data, root-cause analysis and structured problem-solving.
- Support the implementation of new systems, processes and ways of working to improve operational performance.
Experience
- Demonstrated leadership in managing and developing diverse teams within a manufacturing environment.
- Extensive extrusion experience
- Ability to manage workforce planning and resource planning to ensure operational excellence and support succession planning initiatives.
- Extensive experience in extrusion operations, with deep technical expertise in mechanical and/or electrical fault diagnosis and resolution.
- Ability to collaborate and lead, fostering a high-performance and continuous improvement culture.
- Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering principles as applied to extrusion processes.
- Knowledge of HSE standards and engineering compliance procedures, with a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation.
- Ability to make decisions, and take accountability for site‑wide operational and business outcomes.
