Further to ongoing sustained business growth, we are working closely with one of our manufacturing partners to appoint a CNC Operator to join their dynamic team.

Remit:
As a CNC Operator you will be responsible for operating multiple CNC machines, manufacturing one-off components for injection mould tooling. Clocking jobs and running CAM programmes, including running standard programmes to produce stock, liaising with CAM operators whilst working as part of a multi-functional team. Role is primarily focused on 3 axis milling; experience of 5 axis is beneficial but not essential. Experience of 3D machining strategies is desired.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience working as a CNC Operator/Setter in a precision engineering environment, with experience and a strong understanding of machining processes and tool selection alongside the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Role:
- Set and operate CNC machines (including lathes and/or milling machines).
- Interpret technical drawings and work instructions to ensure accurate machining.
- Select and install appropriate tools and fixtures.
- Work with various materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, hardened steels, mild steel, and engineering plastics.
- Carry out basic machine maintenance and ensure all equipment is kept in good working order.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
- Perform quality checks and first off inspections to ensure product conformance.
- Optimise machine settings for efficiency and accuracy.
- Monitor equipment performance and report issues proactively.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with HSE standards.
- Ensure health & safety regulations and workplace procedures are always followed.
- Work within a strong technical design and tooling environment.
Experience Requirements:
- Proven experience as a CNC setter in a precision engineering environment, running multiple machines.
- Strong understanding of machining processes and tool selection.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Proven experience programming with HAAS, HURCO controls.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
