Responsibilities:
- Assists with the preparation and presentation of food under the direction of the Chef.
- Practices and maintains established standards for cleanliness and sanitation throughout all aspects of food preparation and service as required by the health department.
- Promotes and tracks a la carte and wine service sales in accordance with prescribed procedures.
- Complies with all provincial regulations, established food and beverage department policies and procedures and ORCA standards to ensure the department is tour ready.
- Participates in drills to prepare for emergencies and attends all education sessions in relation to emergency preparedness.
- Work in accordance with the organization’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
What you need to know:
- Must have the Smart Serve designation OR Serve It Right (SIRS) designation (for Saskatchewan locations) and one year experience in dining room service.
- Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team.
- Safe Food Handling Certification preferred.
- Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process an asset.
- Proven customer service skills to work with residents of various cultural backgrounds.
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills required.
- You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit.
- You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check.
