We’re partnering with a high-growth fintech scale-up that is redefining how data drives financial decision-making, combining a modern data stack with AI-powered workflows to radically speed up how analytics and dashboards are built and iterated. They’re now looking for an Interim Data Consultant who uses AI as part of their day-to-day toolkit to build better dashboards faster, improve data models, and shorten the path from question to insight.
This is not a traditional Data Analyst role or a pure Data Engineering role. It’s a hands-on position sitting between BI, Analytics, AI and Engineering where you’ll own the full journey from pipeline and data model through to high-impact dashboards and decision-ready outputs for commercial, finance and portfolio analytics teams.
The Role
- Own end-to-end delivery: from data pipelines and transformations through to modelling and dashboards.
- Build scalable data models in Snowflake + dbt, working closely with a central data engineering team where needed.
- Develop high-impact dashboards in tools like Sigma, Power BI, Tableau or Looker, focused on usability for commercial, finance and portfolio analytics teams.
- Use AI tools such as Claude Code to accelerate coding, refactoring, documentation, and analytical exploration.
- Translate commercial and financial questions into clear, practical reporting and analytics outputs.
- Iterate quickly based on feedback, continuously improving structure, performance and usability.
You’ll be embedded in a commercial, delivery-focused environment where your work is directly tied to how fast the business can understand portfolio and financial performance and make decisions.
What They’re Looking For
- A rounded interim data consultant, with strong visualisation experience but not someone who lives only in the dashboards or in backend pipelines.
- Strong BI / analytics and dashboard development experience.
- Solid data modelling and data pipeline experience (data warehousing concepts are essential).
- Experience with Snowflake and dbt or a very similar modern stack.
- Strong SQL; Python beneficial.
- Day-to-day comfort using AI tools (e.g. Claude Code, LLM-based assistants) as part of your workflow.
- Experience working end-to-end rather than relying entirely on separate data engineering teams.
- Financial services / investment / Private equity / asset management / fintech exposure highly preferred.
If you’re the person who likes to shape the data model, tune the pipeline, and craft the dashboard so it all hangs together, this is the role for you. It can also be temp-to-perm for the right candidate.
The Stack
- Snowflake (must have)
- dbt (must have)
- Power BI or Tableau or other dashboard (Must have)
- Sigma BI (Sigma experience is a bonus, but any strong modern BI background is transferable)
- Claude Code and broader AI-enabled analytics tooling.
