Operating at approximately £200m in ARR, we are looking for a commercially minded Product Director to lead the Data, Analytics and AI portfolio. They are a leading Private Equity backed provider of commodity price assessments, market intelligence and data. Their products are used by customers across metals, mining, agriculture, forest products and energy to support pricing, trading, procurement, investment and risk decisions.

The Product Director will own the strategy, development and commercial performance of the firms' Data, Analytics and AI products. A key part of the role will be identifying where AI can enhance proprietary data, price assessments and market intelligence, and turning those opportunities into products that customers will adopt and pay for. This is not a purely technical or delivery-focused role. The successful candidate will combine strong product leadership with the commercial judgement to prioritise investment, shape propositions, set pricing and drive revenue growth.

The right person will be commercially driven, customer-led and comfortable making clear investment and portfolio decisions. They will understand AI deeply enough to identify meaningful opportunities, but will measure success through customer value, adoption and commercial growth rather than technical sophistication alone.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and lead the product strategy for Data, Analytics and AI.
  • Identify and develop new AI-enabled products across commodity pricing, forecasting, market intelligence and customer workflows.
  • Lead products from customer discovery and proposition design through to launch, adoption and scale.
  • Build clear business cases for new product investment.
  • Own commercial outcomes across revenue growth, pricing, packaging, customer adoption and retention.
  • Ensure AI initiatives address genuine customer needs rather than being technology-led.
  • Develop products that make proprietary data more valuable, accessible and embedded within customer decision-making.
  • Review the existing portfolio and make clear decisions on where to invest, scale, reposition.
  • Work closely with Sales and Marketing on go-to-market strategy, customer engagement and sales enablement.
  • Partner with Engineering, Data Science, Technology and Editorial teams to deliver scalable, trusted products.
  • Provide senior leadership with clear recommendations on product priorities, investment and commercial opportunity.
Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be an experienced product leader with a strong track record of building and commercialising B2B data, analytics or AI products. Significant product leadership experience within data, analytics, market intelligence, financial information, commodities, trading technology or B2B software. Evidence of successfully introducing and commercialising AI, machine-learning or advanced analytics products. Direct responsibility for a meaningful product portfolio, revenue line, ARR target or P&L. Strong experience in pricing, packaging, proposition development and GTM strategy. A track record of turning proprietary data into commercially valuable products. Experience operating within a business of similar scale and complexity, ideally within the £100m–£500m ARR or revenue range. Experience leading product teams and working closely with engineering, data science and commercial functions. Strong customer and market judgement, with the ability to identify where investment will create the greatest commercial return. Ability to operate strategically while remaining close to customers, products and execution.

Desirable Experience

Experience within commodities, price reporting, benchmarks, market data or financial information. Knowledge of trading, procurement, pricing or risk-management workflows. Experience with forecasting, predictive analytics, generative AI, intelligent search or decision-support products. Experience working with APIs, data feeds, platforms and embedded data products. Previous experience as a Product Director, VP Product, Global Head of Product, General Manager or divisional CPO.
