Our client, a leading Private equity backed large-cap B2B SaaS company in the regulatory software space, is looking for a hands-on Chief Data Officer to join their executive team. This is a unique role for a senior data leader who can both set the strategy and work directly with the teams to turn data into real business value. The CDO will define how the company manages, uses, and leverages data across products and operations, helping drive growth, improve efficiency, and support decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a company-wide data strategy.
  • Establish strong governance for quality, security, and compliance and work hands-on to make it real across systems and teams.
  • Build and maintain reporting, dashboards, and analytics tools that provide actionable insights.
  • Work directly with data to help solve key business questions and improve decision-making.
  • Lead and grow a high-performing team of data scientists, engineers, and analysts.
  • Partner with Product, Technology, and Commercial teams to use data effectively in business processes and decision-making.
  • Support projects such as acquisitions by assessing data capabilities and integration opportunities.
  • Present data strategy, progress, and results to senior leaders.
  • Define and track key metrics to demonstrate the impact of data initiatives on the business.

Experience and Profile

  • Proven experience in senior data leadership roles, ideally combining strategy with hands-on delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of data architecture, governance, and analytics.
  • Comfortable working across technical teams and with senior business leaders.
  • Experience in B2B SaaS or regulated industries is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
