Siemens Financial Services has successfully launched a marine finance business providing growth funding to the workboat market in the UK.

Following the growth experienced in the last three years we are recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join the Marine Finance team.

The candidate will work closely with contracted third-party specialist in identifying, approaching, and securing new customers in the commercial marine sector while also developing new business opportunities independently.

The role will suit a highly experienced individual capable of proactively driving new business, preparing credit applications, working closely with colleagues in Credit, Asset Management and Legal to ensure transactions are reviewed and documented appropriately.

The role will also require long-term relationship building with customers and industry partners.

Furthermore, the candidate will be required to engage with all stakeholders across the business in a true deal team approach to ensure that transactions are booked correctly on internal systems and that those administering agreements 'in-life' have all the necessary support and information.

  • Work with existing introducers to field opportunities submitted to SFS for review
  • Independently generate new business opportunities in the commercial marine sector
  • Develop a robust sales pipeline with short, medium and long-term opportunities in-line with individual and team targets
  • Manage opportunities from lead qualification through to final activation and into contract management
  • obligors, assets, transaction structures, documentation, risks and mitigants and proposed conditions of sanction
  • Lead commercial negotiations between customers, manufacturers, legal counsel and intermediaries
  • Project manage the satisfaction of conditions precedent, execution of documentation and pay-out mechanics
  • Work with internal contract management system, pricing tool, CRM and other workflow management programmes
  • Refine value proposition and channel strategy with real time primary market intelligence
  • Represent the business at relevant industry events
  • Share with the business professional knowledge gained as a result of attendance at tradeshows, networking events and customer presentations
  • Significant experience in the marine finance sector
  • Successful and demonstrable business development record
  • In depth knowledge of marine finance products, security and documentation
  • Confidence with data management, pricing, forecasting and budgeting
  • Highly commercial and entrepreneurial mindset
