In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for capacity planning and space management across both internal and external warehouse facilities. You’ll lead on driving efficiencies throughout the warehouse function, including the effective layout and utilisation of storage space, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of materials to the assembly line.
You will also provide on-site inbound and outbound logistics support, ensuring the smooth flow of goods to and from the site. This role is key to maintaining high service levels and operational excellence. You’ll be tasked with developing, implementing, and managing robust transportation strategies that optimise supply chain efficiency and reduce operational costs, supporting Siemens Mobility’s commitment to excellence in delivery and performance.
You ‘ll make a difference by:
- Managing end-to-end transportation logistics, including inbound deliveries, outbound shipments, customs coordination, and special transport arrangements (e.g., urgent, oversized, or hazardous goods).
- Building strong relationships with internal teams and external partners, ensuring seamless communication and timely material supply to the production line.
- Maintaining accurate logistics data and systems, including daily shipment tracking, SAP operations, and process documentation to support team efficiency and cross-training.
- Ensuring compliance and documentation accuracy, working closely with customs teams and adhering to Siemens' compliance and internal control procedures.
- Driving continuous improvement, identifying opportunities for process optimization, automation, and workflow enhancements across logistics operations.
- Championing health, safety, and environmental standards, actively promoting a safe working culture and supporting Siemens’ HSWE policies and behavioural safety initiatives.
Your success will be grounded by:
- Proven experience in international transport logistics, with a solid understanding of customs procedures and various transport modes (air, ground, sea).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners.
- A proactive and independent approach, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and drive logistics operations smoothly.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, ensuring accuracy in documentation, invoicing, and customs compliance.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems; experience with TMS is a plus.
- A passion for supply chain and logistics, with a readiness to contribute to a high-performing team and grow within the Siemens family.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and logistics operations within a production environment.
