Siemens Mobility is looking for a Technical Support Engineer to support our Rolling Stock and Customer Service Business. Based out of the Slade Green Depot in Kent and supporting the 707 Fleet, the Technical Support Engineer will work with the Service Delivery Engineer and the Commissioning team to support the customer with the maintenance. The successful candidate will join a team operating on a 24/7 shift pattern. Comprehensive product training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to the customer’s maintenance team, particularly during incidents occurring off depot.
- Independently investigate rolling stock issues, performing maintenance and repairs as needed to ensure compliance with the production plan.
- Regularly monitor and address train defects and in-service failures, maintaining open communication with the customer.
- Proactively mitigate the risk of in-service failures through timely interventions.
- Download, process, and analyze train diagnostic data, conducting advanced fault-finding as required.
- Prepare detailed, analytical technical reports on fault investigations, and ensure timely closure of work reports within the CMMS system.
- Mentor and assist Siemens and customer team members in developing their technical skills.
- Participate in off-depot meetings to support technical investigations and resolutions.
- Collaborate with various Siemens departments to ensure successful contract delivery.
- Provide support with stores and materials management during periods of downtime or team absences.
- Accurately record and report all information relevant to operational safety.
- Respond to trends in unit defects, providing recommendations for mitigations and countermeasures.
- Conduct audits of the customer’s maintenance practices ensuring adherence to relevant standards.
- Perform performance analysis duties during downtime or in the absence of key personnel (site-specific).
Qualifications
- Possession of a valid UK driving license.
- Essential engineering qualifications, such as an Apprenticeship, NVQ, or BTEC.
- Proficient in using IT systems.
- Prior experience in the railway industry is advantageous.
