Are you an electrical engineering professional looking for your next challenge? As an Estimating Engineer, you'll work as part of a collaborative team supporting customer projects from initial enquiry through to quotation and delivery. You'll work with a variety of stakeholders across the business, developing valuable technical, commercial and project experience along the way.

We'll support your development, so whether you're an experienced estimator or looking to move into estimating from a related electrical engineering background, we'd love to hear from you.

Please note: this role requires candidates to have current and permanent right to work in the UK. We are unable to support visa applications for this position.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Reviewing customer drawings, specifications and project requirements to develop technical solutions.
  • Preparing accurate and competitive quotations within agreed timescales.
  • Producing technical and commercial bid documentation to support customer submissions.
  • Interpreting electrical schematics, drawings and technical information.
  • Working closely with engineering, operations and sales teams to support project opportunities.
  • Supporting the delivery of customer projects by ensuring quotation requirements are clearly communicated.
  • Preparing and maintaining technical documentation, including engineering drawings and project information where required.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement activities and helping to enhance the team's customer offering.
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and supporting the successful delivery of business objectives.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Electrical qualification such as ONC, HNC, BTEC, Degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Understanding of a manufacturing, engineering or technical sales environment.
  • A genuine interest in developing a career within estimating and commercial engineering.

Desirable

  • Strong electrical engineering knowledge and understanding of electrical systems and applications.
  • Experience interpreting electrical schematics, technical drawings and specifications.
  • Previous experience in estimating, quotations, proposals, bid support or tendering activities, including an understanding of project costing and commercial considerations.
  • Knowledge of factory-built assemblies, switchgear, electrical distribution products or wider electrical infrastructure applications.
  • Experience using CAD or electrical design software.
  • Understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet customer deadlines.
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to build strong working relationships across teams and adapt to changing business needs.
