Overview
In this role, you identify UK funding opportunities and shape funded projects that align with Siemens Congleton’s technology, product and manufacturing priorities.
You will coordinate bid preparation, manage project administration, and collaborate with engineers, universities, and industry partners to deliver funded initiatives.
The role sits within Technology & Innovation, supporting growth, sustainability and UK capability via external funding.
You’ll translate ideas into compelling proposals that accelerate technology development and manufacturing, across cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and identify relevant UK government funding opportunities
- Maintain a forward-looking funding pipeline aligned with Siemens priorities
- Collaborate with engineers to develop project ideas and funding concepts
- Coordinate preparation of funding applications and consortium bids
- Develop bid schedules and deadlines to ensure timely submissions
- Support project plans, business cases, technical narratives and budgets
- Engage with industry, academic and research partners for collaborative bids
- Coordinate project administration including meetings, reporting and governance
- Maintain records of opportunities, submissions and awards
- Support project kick-offs, steering meetings and periodic reviews
- Identify follow-on funding and future collaboration opportunities
- Contribute to improving funding processes, templates and governance
- Key requirements
- Experience in innovation funding, grant applications, business development, project management or related area
- Knowledge of UK public funding and innovation landscape
- Background in electronics, electrical engineering, manufacturing or related field
- Ability to understand technical concepts and work with engineers
- Strong coordination skills for multiple opportunities, deadlines, and stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to craft clear proposals
- Good analytical skills to assess relevance of funding opportunities
- Ability to build effective relationships with internal teams and external organisations
