To support this expansion, we are seeking an experienced Senior Tendering Engineer to strengthen our Transmission Proposals team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in our order winning process, shaping complex P&C solutions and working closely with our Engineering teams to meet customer needs.
You’ll make a difference by:
- Working with the sales team and customer procurement to evaluate Invitation to Tender (ITT) packages.
- Leading the preparation and co-ordination of proposals from pre-qualification, enquiry through to handover to the contract team (including preparation of calculation sheets and scope of supply documents).
- Collaborating with Engineering, Project Management, Sales and Procurement to ensure customer specifications are understood and translated into robust technical offerings and accurate budgets.
- Issuing and responding to technical queries throughout the tendering process.
- Preparing, presenting, and obtaining internal approval for tender documentation and pricing in line with tender processes and signature protocols.
- Developing and understanding Terms and Conditions, liaising with legal function as necessary to complete Tender documents.
- Arranging and chairing tender reviews and handovers meetings in accordance with tender processes.
What we are looking for:
- Prior experience in a Tendering or Proposals environment.
- Organised and able to coordinate technical specialists inputting into a bid process.
- Knowledge of dealing with complex bids and customer negotiations.
- Ability to work cohesively with other teams including the sales (pre-tendering activities), operations and procurement team.
- Be a team player with good communication and interpersonal skills to make things happen.
- A growth mindset and the willingness to continue developing professionally as you transition into or progress within this role.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word.
At least one of the following requirements:
- Experience of working within Transmission, Distribution or similar industrial sectors.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Protection & Control Systems with the ability to interpret and develop technical scope documents.
- Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering would be preferable.
