As a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer, you'll apply your deep cybersecurity expertise to design and deliver solutions for critical national infrastructure, helping us build a smarter, more sustainable future. This role will be based at our Hebburn office and will include hybrid working with the expectation to be in the office 2 days a week.

We're actively seeking individuals with a strong foundational cybersecurity background who are eager to develop their OT expertise, within a supportive and innovative environment.

You will make a difference by:

  • Supporting and consulting project delivery teams (in development, engineering or service) to design, configure, implement an appropriate secure architecture and product & solution security (software and hardware) which meets customer expectations.
  • Developing and maintaining Cyber Security Models for new and existing solutions in line with industry and global standards.
  • Driving improvements in cybersecurity procedures and processes, identifying opportunities to enhance security posture and operational effectiveness.
  • Creating and managing Factory and Site Acceptance Cyber Security Test documentation and activities to validate the security of delivered solutions.
  • Supporting project teams through cyber security activities across development, project management, and service phases, providing guidance on Product & Solution Security (PSS).
  • Delivering Cyber Security training to internal teams as needed.
  • Monitoring and reporting cybersecurity status, risks and actions to management in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensuring compliance with all business compliance requirements, including Company policies, Business Conduct Guidelines, and the handling of confidential information.
  • Championing 'Zero Harm' safety culture, promoting safe working practices and contributing to a positive, proactive safety environment.

Your defining qualities:

  • Understanding of Operational Technology (OT) and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) environments.
  • Experience in OT & ICS, Industrial Automation, or Critical Infrastructure Cyber Security Implementations.
  • Understanding of key industry regulations and standards (including IEC 62443, IEC 62351, IEC 61850, NIS2).
  • Familiarity with OT network designs (e.g., HSR, PRP).
  • Exposure to network security technologies (e.g. Firewalls, IDS, IPSec, SSL).
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications or certifications (e.g. CISSP, GICSP, CISA), or willingness to work towards them.
  • Experience in substation automation and protection systems.
  • Knowledge of server administration and virtualisation.
  • Experience in network design, switching, and routing.
  • Exposure to IoT and cloud-based technologies.
