Location: This role will be primarily based at our Botanica Ditton Park site. We are planning to relocate to Botanica Ditton Park from January 2027. Until then, the role will be based at our current Farnborough office. This is a hybrid role - balancing office collaboration (2-3 days per week) and home productivity. There will also be a requirement to visit other Siemens office locations from time to time to support the businesses or the external audit.

The Corporate Financial Reporting department of Siemens (CFR), which covers the Western Europe and Africa region (WEA), are responsible for governing the books and records of 75 entities across 18 countries. Within this department, there is a Revenue Recognition team who support the Siemens Mobility business across North West Europe with accounting guidance to ensure that the accounts are prepared in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Siemens Financial Reporting Guidelines.

This team is recruiting another Technical Accounting Advisor to support the Mobility business in the region. This role requires fostering relationships with key business contacts to effectively communicate and apply the Siemens guidelines. Located in the UK, this is a rare opportunity to build deep technical accounting expertise in a multinational environment whilst also playing a strong support and governance role in one of Siemens' largest businesses.

Please note: this role requires travel within the UK and across the WEA region (approx. 20%). Being located in Farnborough/Datchet means you will be working alongside the Head of Accounting for the UK.

What will I be responsible for?

  • Supporting accurate accounting and reporting across the WEA region by:
    • Regularly reviewing the Mobility books and records to ensure correct accounting (including order recognition, revenue recognition, etc).
    • Sharing knowledge across the WEA region and providing clear accounting guidance to the business.
    • Working directly with our external auditor on project reviews and audit processes.
    • Performing allocated internal controls for the CFR team.
    • Assisting with providing information to the UK statutory accounts preparer, including supporting with quality checks and providing certain values and disclosures.
    • Helping to advise on hedge accounting topics alongside subject matter experts.
    • Providing support to the local Heads of Accounting in the different countries across the region as required.

In addition, you will:

  • Build strong relationships with, and become a trusted advisor, to the Mobility business and understand their needs and complexities.
  • Provide guidance on Siemens Financial Reporting Guidelines and IFRS.
  • Offer ad-hoc accounting support to Siemens entities within the WEA region.
  • Contribute to the rollout of new tools that improve financial processes and data interpretation.

What do I need to qualify for the role?

  • Must be a fully qualified accountant, i.e. ACA, ACCA.
  • Experienced in audits of large companies, experience in a large audit firm would be advantageous.
  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS.
  • Highly motivated, resilient, dynamic, self-driven personality enjoying working with a multitude of stakeholders.
  • Used to working in a continuously changing environment with intercultural sensitivity, strong ownership approach, accountability mindset and excellent communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of SAP or other ERP system would be desirable.
