How the Programme Works
- You will follow the apprenticeship standard ST0318 Rail Engineering Technician, Traction and Rolling Stock Pathway and work as part of a team on real‑life projects while gaining formal qualifications.
- Day release at college.
- The programme structure includes application and mobile platform development, mechanical and electrical fault finding to enable trains to enter passenger service within tight deadlines, and developing sustainable rolling stock solutions across all areas of rail transportation.
Essential Skills and Attributes
- You have achieved or are on track to achieve at least 5 GCSEs grade 4 or above, including Maths and English Language.
- It is preferred that you do not have a Level 2 PEO (Performing Engineering Operations).
Requirements You Must NOT Have Completed
- Level 3 Engineering Diploma (BTEC)
- Level 3 AME (Advanced Manufacturing Engineering)
