The demand for mobility is growing as the transportation of people and goods to all corners of the earth presents challenges for the infrastructure and national economies. There has never been a better time to gain experience in the rail industry.

Mobility is providing solutions to the following questions: How will cities solve the problems of increasing traffic? How can railway operators improve the punctuality of service and security of their systems? How can we ensure that the carbon footprint produced by transportation is kept to a minimum?

All mobility-related products, solutions and services from Siemens are bundled into the ‘Mobility Division’. Part of our mobility division is ‘Siemens Rail Infrastructure’ who are a global leader in the design, supply, installation and commissioning of trackside and train borne signalling, as well as train control and communication solutions.

The Mobile Communications, Siemens Rail Infrastructure business in Poole supplies on-board communications equipment and associated technical solutions to rail industry operators and suppliers worldwide. This includes the GSM-R cab radio with GPS and LTE connectivity and the GSM-R data radio. We have earned a respected reputation in the industry which has developed as a result of our success in delivering to our customers across the globe. In addition, we are leading the way within the railway industry in developing the next generation of rail communications (Future Railway Mobile Communication System), based on 4G and 5G technology, so this is a great time to join the business in the development of a new, exciting technology.
