We are currently recruiting for a Electrical Fitter to come and join the team in Goole at our Rail Village. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, a Electrical Fitter ensures HVAC & motor investigations, electrical testing, repairs, overhauls and root cause analysis are undertaken efficiently, safely, at the right cost and to the right level of quality in order to meet customer order requirements.
You’ll make a difference by…
- Ownership of all testing activities in relation to Traction Drives
- Disassemble and reassemble products in line with works order instructions requirements, to meet customer expectations.
- Efficient disassembly/reassembly in line with productivity improvements and capacity planning (achieve the required efficiency and utilization standards for production – i.e. performance/assembly to build times)
- Electrical investigation and testing of rotating electrical equipment (including certification)
- Mechanical and electrical inspection of HVAC & motor parts (stator, rotor, bearing, castings, electronics)
- Implementation of the latest test instructions and execution of quality checks to Industry Standards
- Mechanical and electrical overhauls of traction motors & HVAC systems (disassembly and assembly)
- Mechanical and electrical inspection of HVAC & motor parts (stator, rotor, bearing, castings, electronics)
- Failure and root cause analysis including vibration analysis (unique or serial defect, manufacturing or material issues)
- Responsibility for test bay (including set up of equipment and calibration of instruments)
Your success will be grounded by…
- Electrical Engineering qualifications and previous experience of working on component overhauls (for example motors & HVAC systems)
- Significant experience in a electrical engineering environment
- Understanding of specifications, engineering drawings and principles
- Familiar with office software and IT
- Prepared to travel and work outside normal hours to meet business needs and initial training period
