We are currently recruiting for an experienced and highly skilled EHS Manager to join Siemens Mobility. The EHS Manager will lead, direct and facilitate support to all Rolling Stock Projects Teams to enable effective and proportionate management of health, safety and environmental risk across RS in projects in the Business Segments of Metro, Commuter Rail, Light Rail and High Speed. They will also implement the agreed SMO UKI Safety Management system in all RS Projects and Programmes using this as the main platform to deliver specific contract obligations and agreed customer expectations. Please note that this role is office based in London with some occasional travel to other Siemens sites and depots.
You’ll make a difference by:
- Providing expert advice on health, safety and environmental legislation, leading governance, assurance activities, and continual improvement plans across the business.
- Developing and implementing EHS contract plans that meet all legal, customer and contractual obligations for safe project delivery.
- Acting as a trusted adviser and critical friend, promoting learning, collaboration and continuous improvement in all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment and Wellbeing.
- Championing robust risk management, overseeing risk control strategies, guiding best practice and supporting a consistent “zero harm” approach across the organisation.
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and partners, driving aligned efforts around safety, sustainability and continual improvement.
- Leading incident investigation and follow‑up, ensuring lessons are embedded and systems remain compliant, effective and fit for purpose.
- Shaping a positive HSE culture, delivering briefings, supporting communication initiatives, and modelling Siemens behaviours to promote safe and responsible working.
- Providing leadership and support to the HSEW team, championing wellbeing, professional development and high performance to ensure long‑term functional sustainability.
Your success will be grounded by:
- Experience or strong working knowledge of the engineering and/or rail sectors.
- A level 5 or level 6 health and safety qualification.
- A recognised qualification in environmental awareness.
- Proven leadership experience, ideally gained within the rail industry.
- A lead auditor qualification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence effectively and manage stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in performance management.
