We’re searching for a proactive Proposal Manager to join the Bids and Tendering team for our Rolling Stock Customer Services business. You will be responsible for managing the preparation and drafting of high-quality bid documents for Rolling Stock and Customer Services tenders. Working closely with bid managers, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders across a matrix organisation, you will ensure proposals are compelling, accurate, and meet the highest professional standards. You will also play a key role in maintaining and improving the proposal library, incorporating lessons learned, and leveraging the best content to enhance future submissions.

This role is based in our Siemens Mobility UK Head Office in London.

You’ll make an impact by

  • Working across multiple bidding teams in a matrix organisation to deliver high-quality, compelling bid documents aligned with Siemens Mobility’s vision and growth strategy.

  • Analysing customer ITNs/RFPs to identify evaluation criteria and crafting responses that maximise scoring, while challenging content to ensure the best possible submissions.

  • Managing templates, style guides, and the final review process to create cohesive and professional tender documents that reflect Siemens Mobility’s business objectives.

  • Collaborating with Sales and Subject Matter Experts to develop tailored solutions and ensure customer-specific needs are effectively addressed.

  • Reviewing, refining, and standardising submission content, maintaining the document library, and driving continuous improvements to enhance future bids.

  • Keeping proposal templates and materials up to date with the latest industry trends to maintain Siemens Mobility’s competitive edge.

  • Bringing previous experience in proposals management or a similar discipline, with the ability to set up tender templates that efficiently address customer tenders.

  • Demonstrating an excellent command of English in a corporate setting, with the ability to write, review, and edit compelling, high-quality proposals.

  • Thriving in a matrix organisation, often working autonomously to deliver outputs while collaborating with Sales, Business Development, and other teams.

  • Preparing copyright and developing infographics to visually represent complex solutions, enhancing the impact of bid submissions.

  • Possessing a solid understanding of Rolling Stock and the UK Rail Industry, with a strong customer focus and the ability to craft responses that align with evaluation criteria.

  • Exhibiting excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with attention to detail, and effectively influencing and negotiating with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Holding a degree (or equivalent) in a business or technically related discipline.
