Our Education & Skills (E&S) team empowers our people and customers through high-quality technical training. We are now seeking a Training & Development Specialist - Signalling to support the delivery, development and modernisation of our conventional signalling training portfolio. If you’re passionate about developing capability, enjoy working with emerging technologies and want to shape the future of rail signalling skills, this is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact.

You’ll create impact by:

  • Designing, developing and delivering technical training for legacy and conventional signalling systems and their evolution.
  • Creating and updating course material, including e-learning content, to ensure alignment with new signalling technologies and customer needs.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external customers to identify training requirements and deliver tailored learning solutions.
  • Supporting project bids and new business activity by providing specialist training input, documentation and delivery plans.
  • Completing technical assessments in partnership with signalling engineering teams to ensure competence and capability.
  • Championing safety, quality and continuous improvement across all aspects of training delivery and development.

Safeguarding & Compliance

  • Uphold and implement the company's safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the safety and welfare of all vulnerable adults and children in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Attend regular safeguarding training and maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices and legislation.
  • Report any concerns regarding vulnerable adults and children's welfare to the designated safeguarding lead promptly and accurately.
  • Foster a culture of vigilance and continuous improvement in safeguarding practices.

Qualifications

  • HNC (or equivalent experience) in a STEM discipline.
  • Knowledge of signalling principles, systems, networks and interfaces.
  • Experience developing technical training materials and strategies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong organisation and time–management skills, with the ability to work independently and in virtual teams.
  • (Preferred) Experience teaching Siemens signalling systems, signalling control systems, cybersecurity, or distributed control networks.
