As a Senior NPI Engineer, you will lead the successful transition of new magnet technology products from development into full-rate manufacturing. Acting as a critical bridge between R&D and Supply Chain Management, you will ensure that new products are robust, manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet the highest standards of quality and performance. You will work in a fast-paced, technically complex manufacturing environment, motivating and supporting a high-performing team while collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders. Your work will have a direct impact on operational excellence, product reliability, and long-term business success.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) to ensure final product designs are suitable for scalable, repeatable manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with design and R&D teams to enhance Design for Assembly (DFA) and define clear process engineering requirements that optimise labour utilisation and efficiency.
  • Develop manufacturing processes from early concept through to production readiness, ensuring materials, components, and workflows are optimised for high yield and quality.
  • Introduce, qualify, and refine new manufacturing processes and equipment to support successful product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and contribute to DFMEA and PFMEA activities to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate technical and process risks.
  • Establish strong feedback loops across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, sharing lessons learned to drive continuous improvement once products are in production.
  • Support the operational success of both existing and new production facilities, contributing to standardisation, stability, and long-term manufacturability.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Engineering, Science, Manufacturing, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Significant, hands-on experience in manufacturing and process engineering within a complex or regulated environment.
  • Proven experience leading and delivering New Product Introduction (NPI) projects; experience transitioning from development into production is highly advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong working knowledge of DFMEA and PFMEA methodologies, with the ability to apply them pragmatically to real-world manufacturing challenges.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a structured approach to identifying risks and implementing effective solutions.
  • Clear, confident communication skills and a collaborative mindset, enabling you to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and influence stakeholders.
