We are currently recruiting for Rolling Stock Maintenance Technicians at varied levels to support our Team in Northampton. We are looking for people with strong electrical, mechanical and fault diagnosis experience. Rail experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
You’ll make a difference by…
- Undertake routine maintenance and repair of the allocated rolling stock to meet the requirements of the production plan
- Carry out download diagnosis and fault-finding, progressing to an advanced level fault-finder.
- Produce analytical technical reports on fault investigation
- Read and interpret electrical schematic and software logic diagrams, documenting all relevant technical information on the maintenance management system.
- Depot driving – Movement of allocated rolling stock within the depot limits.
- Identify, order and collect spares and materials from stores
- Implement safe systems and controls within your area of responsibility.
- Actively participate in our Continuous Improvement programme and drive implementation of your own improvement ideas.
Your success will be grounded by…
- Experience in a mechanical/electrical engineering environment
- Rolling stock experience preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
- Experience in documenting actions and operations accurately and to procedures
- Good knowledge and understanding for cares of tools, equipment and PPE as appropriate
- Knowledge of Health & Safety including bio-hazards, manual handling and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
- Ability to use a laptop for diagnostic, fault-finding and rectification purposes
- Ability to understand and interpret relevant technical publications
- Flexibility to accommodate shifts patterns is required
