We’re searching for a top-tier professional to join our team as a Depot Controller who takes responsibility for all rail movements throughout our manufacturing facility and will lead a small team of experts tasked with ensuring that rail movements are always carried out safely and efficiently.
You’ll make a difference by:
- Taking responsibility for all rail movements throughout our manufacturing facility
- Leading a small team of experts to ensure safe and efficient rail movements involving single cars, partial trains, or full trains
- Developing and maintaining procedures for rail movements, including risk assessments, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and rail-specific standard documents
- Mapping and managing interfaces with both internal and external parties to ensure safety and professionalism at all times
Your success will be grounded by:
- Proven experience managing small teams and working collaboratively across different levels of a business
- Expert knowledge of rail operations within private facilities, depots, or yards, and a strong understanding of the wider UK rail network
- Previous roles such as Rail Traffic Controller, Person in Charge, or Appointed Person within a rail environment
- Demonstrated ability in writing rail-based Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Risk Assessments, and permits for rail activities
- A solid understanding of P-Way operations, signalling principles, and Network Rail activities and standards
- Strong communication skills, including the use of hand signals, along with proficient computer literacy and a valid Sentinel PTS certification
