We are currently recruiting for an OCS Product Manager to join our Electrification business. Working from our York or Coventry site, you will be responsible for the Overhead Contact Systems material business segment. You will be the UK product owner of the Sicat OCS product range, working closely with Siemens German Engineering colleagues to be the onshore OCS product expert. assisting customers to identify the right product for their need by providing technical support and guidance.
Supported by a sales administrator, you will also ensure successful order fulfilment and resolve any customer issues. You will also be the materials manager for Siemens internal self-delivered OCS projects.

You\’ll make an impact by…
• Building a sales network of potential customers
• Manage the existing Network Rail approved Siemens OLE products.
• Identify opportunities to bring new products from the Siemens OLE range to the UK, providing business cases as required to support any investment. Support product approval work streams.
• Work with the sales teams for the OLE product range, acting as the technical authority for any product related enquires to the business.
• Represent Siemens at industry meetings and working groups on the development of OLE in the UK & Ireland.
• Developing an internal network encompassing international product owners, product sales colleagues
• Promoting Sicat products to the industry
• Visiting customer location around the UK and Ireland
• Leading business improvement projects
• Interacting with support functions and key suppliers to ensure on time delivery of material and services, participating in performance reviews when required.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of OCS systems.
• Supporting change control processes to manage modifications and improvements.
• Providing technical expertise and guidance to internal teams and stakeholders
• Ensuring existing and new product hold any necessary customer product acceptance certification

Your success will be grounded by…
• HND / HNC/ BTEC/ CTEC qualification or higher equivalent qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience in a OCS environment.
• Knowledge of railway OCS maintenance techniques and procedures.
• Demonstratable knowledge of railway OCS including reading mechanical and electrical drawings, systematic fault finding and problem identification.
• Ability to draft, review, analyse, and interrogate technical reports
• The ability to work with minimal supervision, setting clear targets and deliverables to ensure the achievement of project goals
• Good communication skills written & oral
• Good knowledge of IT systems and software
• Confident presentation skill
It would also be beneficial to have:
• Experience in dealing with customers and suppliers
• Good technical knowledge of the relevant Sicat platform
• Analytical techniques (5Whys, SWOT, Design Thinking etc)
• The ability to provide leadership within a matrix organisation structure.
