We have an exciting opportunity for a T3 Technician to join our Traincare Depot in Ardwick, Manchester. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance of Class 185 Desiro diesel rolling stock and supporting activities that ensure the safe and efficient operation of both the fleet and the depot. You will work in compliance with health and safety standards, established processes, and regulatory requirements.
As a T3 Technician, you will bring proven experience in diagnosing and resolving vehicle faults, ideally gained within a rolling stock, automotive, or military engineering environment. You'll make a difference by:
- Undertaking maintenance and repair of the allocated rolling stock to meet the requirements of the production plan maintenance in accordance with the Siemens Rolling Stock VMI.
- Undertaking train driving within the depot site limits, where necessary, and train preparation duties.
- Carrying out download diagnosis and fault finding to an intermediate level.
- Implementing safe systems and controls within the area of responsibility.
- Understanding, implementing, and complying with the Siemens Rolling Stock HSEW.
- Raising issues and participating in the implementation of agreed actions.
- Fully participating and engaging in RL behavioural safety agenda to ensure you work safely.
- Monitoring compliance to meet internal control procedures and taking appropriate corrective actions.
You’d describe yourself as:
- Having experience in a mechanical/electrical engineering environment.
- Having experience of basic fault finding.
- Being able to complete all records of actions and operations accurately and to procedures.
- Being able to understand and care for tools, equipment, and PPE.
- Having knowledge of Health & Safety including biohazards, manual handling, and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).
- Being able to understand and interpret relevant technical publications.
- Being able to use a laptop for diagnostic, fault finding, and rectification purposes.
- Having proven experience in fault finding.
