We are now recruiting a Deputy Supervisor to support the leadership of a skilled team of rolling stock technicians at our Ardwick Depot based in Manchester. In this role, you’ll report directly to the Supervisor/Production Manager and lead a dedicated team in meeting and exceeding the daily Train Service Agreement. You will take full ownership of delivering quality work in a safe, efficient manner, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. With a focus on driving productivity and implementing process improvements, you’ll play a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency. Additionally, you will support the continuous growth and development of your team, cultivating a work environment that prioritises both performance and collaboration.
This is a shift-based (12 hour) role with a rotating schedule of days, nights, and weekends. To meet the legal requirements set out in the Working Time Regulations, ROGS Regulations, and other Railway Group Standards, applicants must live within a one-hour commute of the Ardwick depot.

Your success will be grounded by:
- Leadership experience within a rolling stock or vehicle maintenance environment
- Technical knowledge of Rolling Stock maintenance procedures/practices
- Good knowledge of IT systems/software
- Excellent interpersonal skills both written and oral
- Good understanding of Health, Safety and environment requirements
- Engineering ONC or equivalent qualification or experience
- Basic understanding of continuous improvement principles
- Contract/Commercial knowledge
