We have an outstanding opportunity to join our prestigious Thameslink project as a Plant & Facilities Engineer, primarily based at our Hornsey depot. The Plant and Facilities Engineer is responsible for the coordination of internal and/or external maintenance engineers, reviewing Method Statements and Risk Assessments and ensuring that safe systems of work are in place and Siemens policies are adhered to. Standard working hours for this role is 7am to 3pm, Monday to Friday.

You will make a difference by:

  • Playing a key role in the final acceptance of facilities, reviewing O&M documentation and the development of relevant operational, environmental, and safety documentation.
  • Supervising Maintenance Engineers undertaking maintenance, inspection, and repair of depot plant in accordance with the agreed maintenance regime defined on the Maintenance Management System, including scheduling new tasks in accordance with statutory legislation as applicable.
  • Producing risk assessments and job procedures for all activities in line with the agreed maintenance regime.

You’ll win us over by:

  • Previous experience in plant and facilities maintenance in an operationally demanding environment.
  • Experience in fault finding, knowledge of IT and the ability to understand and interpret drawings and wiring diagrams is necessary.
  • Driving licence is required due to the requirements to travel to other Thameslink sites and Maintenance Contractor Offices.
  • Advanced Health, Safety & Environment knowledge – understanding of the relevant legislation and in particular experience of carrying out risk assessments.
  • An ability to schedule tasks and assign resources effectively, within budget and work independently within a fixed timescale.
  • A minimum City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 in either electrical or mechanical engineering fields.
  • People management/ Supervisory experience.
  • Basic understanding of hot and cold-water distribution systems, heating and ventilation systems, and gas installations.
