We are currently recruiting for a Commissioning & Warranty Technician to support the mobilisation of trains across both London depots for the Piccadilly Line – Northfields and Cockfosters. Reporting to the Commissioning & Warranty Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient execution of assigned projects throughout the commissioning and warranty phases. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality outcomes within defined timeframes and budgets, across various types of rolling stock including High-Speed, Commuter Rail, Metro, Light Rail, and Passenger Coaches.
We’re seeking a self-motivated team player who is committed to continuous development. You’ll be supported with tailored training plans to build the competencies needed for current and future projects, including the Deep Tube Upgrade Programme (DTUP).
You’ll make a difference by:
- Coordination of operational commissioning and, when warranty is commissioned, it must be realised in accordance with customer specific regulations of contract and according to project specific.
- Working as part of the UK team and as part of the wider Global Siemens Mobility Commissioning team, to assist where possible in the identification and resolution of issues either at the test track, or Home Depot to build the relationships required to ensure a smooth transition of a new fleet into our customers UK passenger service.
- Recording and clarifying project-related problems and risks, including escalation and project management with relevant effects on time, costs, and quality.
- Undertaking vital maintenance activities where required alongside commissioning work in accordance with test procedures and detailing all results using various digital tools available.
- Identification and rectification of faults identified through commissioning tests including escalation to relevant suppliers or engineering teams, providing sophisticated and accurate reports for the customer.
Your success will be grounded by:
- Proven background in Rail sector with relevant skills to ensure your work is undertaken in line with company policy and industry guidelines to a high level.
- Strong self-development to embrace continual training & skills development in line with new projects.
- Experience of working on the maintenance of fleets in the UK from either a maintenance or Commissioning and Warranty / testing aspect with a desire to learn new skills.
- Excellent communicators, both written and oral with strong analytical, problem solving and fault-finding skills.
- Proficient skills in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
It would be desirable to have:
- Good knowledge of IT networks (Profinet, TCP/IP) and IT systems, specifically understanding of use of maintenance management systems and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to speak German.
