We are looking for Assembly Technicians to join our production team, carrying out the assembly and installation of mechanical components, sub-assemblies and systems in line with engineering drawings and work instructions. Working in a safety-focused environment, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality products, maintaining production standards and supporting continuous improvement initiatives as part of a collaborative team.
You’ll make a difference by…
- Assembling and installing mechanical components, sub-assemblies and systems in line with engineering drawings, work instructions and quality standards.
- Carrying out preparation and fitting activities, including assembly of components, door systems, electrical connections, pipe fitting and bonding where required.
- Completing production tasks safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales, ensuring all work meets specification before sign-off.
- Conducting visual inspections, functionality checks and quality tests throughout the assembly process to maintain high standards.
- Identifying and escalating material shortages, equipment issues or production concerns to support the smooth running of operations.
- Contributing to a strong health, safety and environmental culture by following safe working practices and championing our Zero Harm principles.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, Lean ways of working and collaborative team activities to drive operational excellence.
Your success is grounded by:
- Completed a Level 3 Mechanical Apprenticeship or possess equivalent relevant mechanical assembly, manufacturing, maintenance or overhaul experience.
- Proven experience working in a manufacturing, maintenance or overhaul environment in a similar assembly role.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical documentation and work instructions accurately.
- Experience carrying out mechanical assembly, fitting and installation activities to quality and safety standards.
- Strong understanding of health, safety and quality requirements within an engineering or production environment.
- Experience of specialist activities such as door installations, pipe fitting, bonding or electrical terminations are highly desirable.
- Experience working on the New Piccadilly Line programme.
