Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
As a Pre-Sales Simulation Engineer, you will be the technical backbone of the sales process for the Siemens Simcenter and Xcelerator portfolios.
You will bridge the gap between complex engineering challenges and our software solutions.
Your mission is to demonstrate the value of the Siemens Digital Twin by leading technical engagements, implementing high-impact Proof of Concepts (POCs), and ensuring long-term product adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Discovery: Partner with Account Orchestrators and SAE’s to identify customer difficulties, engineering bottlenecks, and business goals.
- Solution
Mapping: Translate customer requirements into a tailored technical solution using the Siemens simulation portfolio (e. g., Simcenter STAR-CCM+, Simcenter Amesim, Simcenter 3D).
- Value Demonstration: Deliver compelling technical presentations and live software demonstrations to both engineering teams and executive collaborators.
- 2. Technical Validation & POCs
- Proof of Concept (POC)
Management: Lead the scoping, execution, and delivery of POCs.
You will build simulation models using customer data to prove the software’s capability and ROI.
- Competitive Benchmarking: Demonstrate Siemens’ technical superiority against competitor tools through rigorous testing and validation.
- Problem Solving: Address complex simulation challenges (CFD, FEA, System Simulation, or Electromagnetics) during the sales cycle to remove technical blockers.
- 3. Product Usage & Adoption Support
- Onboarding Guidance: Support new customers during the initial implementation phase to ensure a smooth transition from sale to usage.
- Adoption Strategy: Find opportunities for customers to expand their use of the Siemens portfolio, ensuring they realize the full value of their investment.
- Feedback Loop: Act as the "Voice of the Customer" for Product Management and R&D, providing insights on feature requests and market trends.
- 4. Content & Community
- Knowledge Sharing: Create technical marketing content, such as white papers, blog posts, or webinar material, to showcase innovative simulation workflows.
- Mentorship: Assist junior engineers and partners in understanding standard practices for Siemens simulation tools.
- Required Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Excellence
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Simulation Expertise: Proficiency in at least one core Siemens tool (Simcenter STAR-CCM+, Simcenter Amesim, Simcenter 3D, HEEDS, Hyperworks, Hypermesh, Sim Solid or other).
- Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of physics-based simulation (Fluid Dynamics, Structural Mechanics, Thermal, or Multi-physics).
- Industry Context: Familiarity with industries such as Automotive, Aerospace, Industrial Machinery, or Electronics.
- Soft Skills
- Communication: Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Sales Competence: A "consultative selling" mindset—focusing on solving the customer's problem rather than just listing features.
- Project Management: Ability to handle multiple customer engagements and POCs simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with scripting or programming (Python, C++, or Java) for simulation automation.
- Prior experience in a pre-sales or application engineering role.
- Knowledge of PLM (Teamcenter) integration with simulation workflows.
