You are responsible for managing the production operation with focus on Safety & wellbeing, Quality, Customer Service and Costs, ensuring all product lines are driving to achieve due dates thus reducing potential for missed customer orders. You drive development within the department to ensure a cross trained team both at Production line manager and Operator levels. This needs to take into account any succession planning and identification of future leaders.

You carry out regular broad load trend analysis, to optimize capacity plans and to maintain the optimal level of direct staff. This will include review of departmental (and by costs centre) the utilization & efficiency levels of the operations to identify root cause of lost productivity. You drive and contribute actively towards reducing year-on-year product cost movements by improving production utilization & efficiency and ensuring all Continuous Improvement activities are resourced, managed and driven to successful completion.

You will be responsible for compliance with and support the Health, Safety and Environment statements, policies and procedures as well as ensuring that all H&S audits are carried out accordingly as well as annual assessments. Investigating any EHS incident raised within the area to drive to a Zero Harm culture. You will be part of any New Product introduction teams to ensure that any new products enter manufacturing in a well-planned/optimized manner, and to influence product design for ease and consistency of manufacture. This is to include the documentation to support manufacturing processes and any necessary validation activities.

Your expertise:

  • Several years’ proven experience as a Leader in a GMP manufacturing management environment
  • IT literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • Self-motivated, reliable, able to work on own initiative, manage time effectively and possess a desire to succeed
  • Demonstrated leadership and cross functional collaboration
  • Change agent with the ability to motivate and empower teams to deliver
  • Excellent experience in people management
