We encourage you to step beyond your comfort zone, offering resources and flexibility to foster your professional and personal growth, all while valuing your unique contributions.

Quality Engineering & Regulatory Affairs Intern for the position of Quality Engineering & Regulatory Affairs Intern and gain hands‑on experience of how engineering knowledge and problem‑solving are applied within Quality & Regulatory Affairs at Siemens Healthineers Magnet Technology. Quality and Regulatory Affairs are an important part of the engineering lifecycle within the medical technology industry.

Rather than designing or manufacturing products directly, you’ll use your technical understanding to help investigate issues, understand what has gone wrong and support solutions that protect product quality, safety and regulatory compliance.

Working with colleagues across engineering, manufacturing and regulatory affairs, you’ll see how issues experienced in the real world are investigated and resolved and how the learning from these can help improve our products and processes.

This 12‑month internship will give you the opportunity to apply the analytical and problem‑solving skills developed through your engineering degree to real challenges, while taking on responsibility and making a meaningful contribution to the team.

In this role you will:

  • Work with colleagues across engineering, manufacturing and regulatory affairs to investigate quality and compliance issues.
  • Apply analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills to understand issues, explore root causes and support the development of appropriate solutions.
  • Use data and evidence to understand problems and support effective decision‑making.
  • Support corrective and preventive actions, helping to address identified issues and reduce the likelihood of them happening again.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities focused on product quality, processes and regulatory compliance.
  • Support work that helps maintain high standards of product safety, reliability and performance.
  • Gain practical experience of how engineering knowledge is applied within Quality & Regulatory Affairs in a highly regulated medical technology environment.

All of our interns also participate in our structured 12‑month Intern Development Programme, developing professional skills such as communication, teamwork and commercial awareness alongside the experience gained within the role.

This internship may involve working at either or both of our Eynsham and Bicester sites as part of your role. Whichever location is your main base, you’ll be collaborating with teams at both locations and gaining unique insight into how a large‑scale business manages the ramp‑up of our new facility while maintaining day‑to‑day delivery.

Work Experience

  • You will be an undergraduate student currently studying towards a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering subject, such as Mechanical, Electronic, Electrical or Materials Engineering, or another relevant technical subject, and completing a 12‑month industrial placement or sandwich year as part of your degree.
  • You’ll have strong analytical, reasoning and problem‑solving skills and enjoy using these to understand and solve real‑world problems.
  • You’ll have good communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy working collaboratively with others.
  • You should be organised, proactive and willing to learn and take initiative.
  • You don’t need previous experience within Quality or Regulatory Affairs, but you should be interested in developing an understanding of how engineering, quality and regulatory requirements work together to deliver safe and reliable products.
  • You must also have eligibility to work in the UK for the duration of the internship (Summer 2027‑Summer 2028), as we are unable to offer sponsorship for internship roles.

Benefits

  • 26 days' holiday with the option to buy or sell an additional 5 days
  • Up to 10% employer pension contribution
  • Share and bonus scheme
  • Access to our flexible benefits from private medical insurance to dental cover
  • Corporate Social Responsibility opportunities including 2 paid volunteering days per year and support from our 24/7 employee assistance programme
