Overview
Location: Europe-based, with travel across Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands and beyond. Department: Clinical Applications. Employment Type: Full-Time. This role focuses on training and supporting customers in the safe and effective use of Varian radiotherapy systems, combining clinical background with a customer-facing role to improve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality on-site and remote training on newly installed systems, upgrades, and product developments
- Support customers in adapting clinical workflows and proposing innovative approaches post-installation
- Design and deliver tailored training programs for Varian hardware and software
- Participate in internal product testing and customer satisfaction evaluations
- Provide clinical support for education, sales, marketing, and trade events
- Assist with internal staff training and knowledge sharing
- Offer helpdesk support to ensure timely resolution of customer inquiries
- Manage administrative tasks including training reports, time sheets, and expense documentation
- Maintain up-to-date certifications and competencies through ongoing training
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, particularly in travel, radiation, and electrical safety
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the broader mission of Varian Business
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Diploma as a Medical Physicist or Professional Radiographer (Dosimetrist)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in radio-oncology with radiotherapy equipment
- Experience with Varian brachytherapy systems is highly desirable
Knowledge & Expertise
- Strong understanding of clinical radiotherapy workflows and hospital environments
- Proven ability to train adult learners, especially healthcare professionals
- Deep appreciation of customer needs and the ability to tailor solutions accordingly
Skills & Attributes
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); German or Dutch is an advantage
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
- Creative problem-solving abilities and adaptability in changing environments
- Willingness to travel extensively, including outside normal working hours when needed
