The purpose of our Head of Operations position is to provide the Aeroderivative Gas Turbines (AGT) team with strategic leadership and support for our execution business. The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Aeroderivative Gas Turbines (SE GS D AGT).
The Head of Operations is responsible for leading and optimizing manufacturing and assembly activities across our global network. This senior leadership role ensures consistent operational standards, drives efficiency, improves quality, ensures product deliveries, and fosters collaboration between teams to support Siemens Energy’s mission of delivering innovative and sustainable energy solutions.
As a key contributor within the executive team, you will help identify and drive key business objectives and long-term operational needs for the AGT business, guiding the organisation towards future success.
How You’ll Make an Impact- Global Operational Leadership
- Provide strategic oversight and leadership for factory operations across the global network.
- Develop and execute a unified manufacturing strategy to ensure standardization, quality, and operational excellence.
- Harmonize processes, systems, and KPIs globally, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and local operational requirements.
- Manufacturing Excellence
- Oversee production performance, capacity planning, and resource allocation across multiple manufacturing teams.
- Ensure adherence to lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Monitor production outputs, efficiency, yield, and downtime to ensure reliable delivery performance.
- Facilitate best practice sharing between global teams and locations to align methodologies and performance standards.
- Build strong relationships with site leaders to ensure effective communication and operational cohesion.
- Support global initiatives focused on digitalisation and operational transformation.
- Safety, Quality, and Compliance
- Promote and maintain a Zero Harm safety culture across all manufacturing locations.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, environmental standards, and Siemens Energy’s global quality management systems.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives to reduce defects and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Manage operational budgets across factory locations, ensuring cost-effective and efficient operations.
- Optimise workforce planning, material sourcing, and production scheduling.
- Implement procurement and supply chain strategies that improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Lead and develop site managers and operational leadership teams globally.
- Ensure consistent training, competency development, and succession planning across teams and locations.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Significant leadership experience managing multi-site factory operations, ideally within the energy, heavy industrial, or manufacturing sectors.
- Proven track record of improving production efficiency and implementing global operational standards.
- Experience with lean manufacturing methodologies and digital transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems and manufacturing analytics tools, with SAP experience preferred.
- Commitment to sustainability and operational excellence.
- Knowledge of the Aeroderivative Gas Turbine (AGT) business and Siemens Gas Services portfolio is advantageous.
- Proven ability to lead multicultural and cross-regional teams with strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to move quickly with clarity and ownership when making operational decisions.
- Flexibility to adapt in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities and multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Willingness to travel occasionally both nationally and internationally.
