As a Commodity Manager within our Blades & Vanes team, you will play a critical role in supporting the continued growth of Siemens Energy’s Small Gas Turbine business. Focusing on hot blades and vanes coatings, your day will involve working closely with global suppliers, engineering teams, and operational stakeholders to ensure a resilient, high-performing, and cost-effective supply chain.
You’ll lead strategic sourcing activities, manage key supplier relationships, negotiate complex commercial agreements, and support risk mitigation initiatives across a technically demanding commodity area. Working in a global environment, you will collaborate across multiple functions to help secure supply continuity and drive long‑term business performance.
How You’ll Make an Impact- Develop and implement global sourcing strategies for hot blades and vanes coatings to support business growth, supply continuity, and cost competitiveness.
- Lead supplier identification, qualification, and onboarding activities to strengthen and de‑risk the global supply chain.
- Manage strategic supplier relationships, driving performance improvements, cost optimisation, and operational excellence through regular business reviews.
- Lead negotiations for complex supply agreements, commercial terms, and pricing structures while ensuring compliance with company standards and contractual obligations.
- Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks including capacity constraints, geopolitical impacts, and material volatility.
- Conduct market analysis, spend reviews, and total cost of ownership (TCO) assessments to identify cost reduction and value engineering opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to support product development, supplier capability, and manufacturing optimisation initiatives.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex commercial and operational supplier challenges.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience within strategic sourcing, commodity management, or procurement in a technical manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong experience managing supplier relationships, sourcing strategies, and complex commercial negotiations.
- Knowledge or experience within coatings, blades & vanes, aerospace, power generation, or high‑temperature manufacturing processes would be highly advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with experience conducting spend analysis and cost modelling activities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills within cross‑functional and global teams.
- Experience working within international supply chains and managing supply chain risk mitigation activities.
- Professional certifications such as CPSM or CPIM would be advantageous.
- Strong commercial acumen combined with a collaborative and proactive mindset.
