A Snapshot of Your Day: To carry out planned preventative maintenance contracts with Siemens Energy customers at their sites (UK and overseas) either leading a small team of other service engineers, craft technicians, client staff and/or sub-contractors, or by personally carrying out mechanical engineering work on sites.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Support the Site Management and Site Leads with the execution of works whilst on site.
- Responsible for leading craft technicians and sub-contracted personnel.
- Represent Siemens Energy at meetings/discussions with clients of all levels.
- Liaise with internal personnel and external customers (and where applicable their subcontractors).
- Provide technical advice and assistance to the customer regarding the disassembly and reassembly of turbine/generator equipment within the scope of supply.
- Work to agreed plan/client specification and prioritise own, and teams, work to achieve deadlines, managing emergent work and taking necessary actions liaising with supervisor and client.
- Regularly consult with work colleagues, customer and subcontractors.
- Involvement in supplier interface issues, customer meetings and documentation.
- Assist in the execution of technical work packages.
- Assist in the planning and preparation of contracts/projects as required.
- Ensure all technical information is prepared, recorded and issued in the appropriate systems and has undergone appropriate checking and approval processes.
- Identification, resolution and escalation of all technical issues that arise.
- Identifies risk and mitigations.
- Adhere to best practice, all relevant processes and policies (including HSE).
- Understanding, being involved in, commercial discussions and meetings.
- Drive quality and continuous improvement activities.
- Responsible for the training and development of other staff.
- Support company and group initiatives (e.g. Zero Harm, Talk to Me and Right First Time).
- Undertake any training requirements deemed necessary to fulfil the role.
What You Bring
- Qualified to HNC/HND level in an Engineering discipline or a recognised apprenticeship.
- Ideally 5 years technical experience in a field role with experience supervising teams.
- High level of familiarity with large Steam Turbine and combined-cycle power plant technology.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively (internally and with external partners) and individually to achieve results.
- Flexible to meet the changing needs of the business and department.
- Excellent communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate at all levels.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Good computer literacy skills an advantage.
- Varied projects will allow you to develop skills and knowledge on gas turbines, steam turbines and generators.
- Work with different colleagues from the UK and the global network to help expand knowledge of different technologies.
